Charoen Vongprecharkun er skulptøren som står for selve utformingen av statuen. Mange i Norge har spurt hvem han er, og vi presenterer ham derfor litt ekstra detaljert nedenfor. Vi vet at oppgaven har vært meget krevende fordi statuen ikke var ønsket i den tradisjonelle kulturelle stilen Charoen normalt jobber med, men i en mer Skandinavisk uttrykksform.  På dette området har Toma Waagaard, med sin flerkulturelle bakgrunn, vært en god støtte.
